The Father Wand
The Father Wand
Also known as A Suma’athaum ([[Item-Thaum Type Artifact of the Empire (a spell-empowering device) Materials Wood Borne by Mauran, the Magefather Whereabouts Said to be buried with Mauran in hidden Castle Lukshiel
Every student of magic and of old relics knows that the Empire possessed powerful instruments for enriching and amplifying spells - the *Ma’athaum* and *Suma’athaum* (Magic Intensifiers), as they are commonly named. The Father Wand was among the greatest of them, a Suma’athaum in its own right.
One is famous above the rest, on account of who carried it: Mauran, the father of wizards. The Father Wand was a wand of wood that, by every account, made each spell Mauran cast immeasurably more powerful. What became of the legendary thing is unknown; some say that after Mauran’s death it was buried with him in the mysterious Castle Lukshiel - the keep he is said to have raised himself, years earlier, with that very wand.
