Gradient Lapidus

Description

Physical Appearance

A short, broad-shouldered, heavily muscled man - perhaps twice the breadth of an ordinary youth - with a shaved head crowned by a tattoo of a crown, and a body covered in tattoos. His eyes, though reddened with smoke and drink, were sharp and piercing.

Personality

Mocking, brutal, and contemptuous of idealists, whom he dismissed as “not true children of the slums.”

Biography

Gradient Lapidus was the chief of the gang that held the Typhoon Inn, the last gang stronghold in the slums. When a baker’s son named Tristis Praesidium burst in and harangued the cowed gangs to rise against the tyrant Bousherie, Lapidus dismissed him as pathetic - and, when the boy dared challenge him directly, granted him a knife and a duel before the assembled inn. To the shock of all, the untrained youth drove his blade into Lapidus’s eye and killed him.
