Kitaras

Kitaras was a wealthy, successful cloth-merchant before fortune - or misfortune - pulled him bodily into the Feywyld during one of his trading voyages. The months he spent in that strange realm opened his eyes to possibilities beyond coin and commerce, and when he found his way home he threw himself into research, hungrily studying every scrap of history and lost knowledge he could find - including, it was said, secrets recovered from ancient Loreshia.

Chosen and groomed by Sutiras a decade in advance, Kitaras took the throne in 1091. His merchant’s instincts made him a famously canny dealmaker who raised Swadia’s standing among its neighbors. He built grand public works - stadiums and theaters - cared for his people’s welfare more than any king before him, and, mindful of Lexallian ambitions to the north and instability to the south, established workshops and “laboratories” to forge advanced arms and armor for the army. He prepared for nearly every scenario - almost every one.
