Therastria Galanodel
Therastria Galanodel
Race Dendulra Class Wizard - School of Divination Title Chair, ACU Norn Institute for Predictive Analysis & Risk Management Goes by ”Thera”
Therastria Galanodel - “Thera,” for short - is a Dendulra arcanist and one of the foremost diviners alive. She loved magic from an early age, growing up in a silvery spire full of faerie-light and soft music, yet caring for nothing but the arcane. Raised by an esteemed but socially oblivious professor uncle, she was a bookish child, bullied as a “scrollworm” through her martial training and ignored in matters of friendship and romance. She poured all of it into one passion: winning a place at the Arcana Conclave University and its library.
Thera graduated top of every class and earned a post at the ACU - and was then passed over for promotion, again and again, by faculty she judged to know less than she did. Her solution was characteristically logical: she dove into Divination, mastering the threads of reality until she could nudge their temporal loops with Portent magic - smoothing over an awkward word here, defusing a rude attitude there. Her influence grew until she founded a new department and was, reluctantly, handed the Chair of the ACU Norn Institute for Predictive Analysis and Risk Management.
Now without peer in her field, she is sought out by the Adventuring Guilds across the continent to scry well-hidden things - lost arcane tomes, dormant enchanted weapons, necromancers worth worrying about - and to weigh the risks of monstrous encounters. She does it all, as she sees it, for the sake of rationality: without her, adventurers would simply rush in and perish like moths into a 3,000-degree dragon’s maw. They always thank her afterward. They also, she notices, always roll their eyes while she patiently explains why they are doing it wrong.
- Background feature: Tome of Lore - “Seven Ways to Obliterate a Tarrasque: A Compendium of Lore Insights on Arcane, Martial and Economic Applications for Gargantuan Monster Annihilation.”
- Manner: Always offers her hand to anyone new (“Good manners come first”), points out flaws in unfinished thinking, and never insults anyone on purpose. Friendly, if awkward; she adventures as field research but lives to discuss arcane theory.
