Petri Family
The Petri Family is one of the Exalted Families of the Holy Theocracy of Olympus - a wealthy and politically influential house of Kepostheon and the owners of some of the nation’s largest marble quarries. The state, the artists, and the rich of the city all come to the Petri when they want the finest marble - a demand that only rose during the War of Horrors, as marble temples and halls were damaged across the land. The family is politically adaptive above all: by cooperating with whichever faction held power, the Petri weathered the great crises and the coup that reshaped the Theocracy. Of all the gods, they feel closest to Hera.
The Family
The family is headed by the patriarch Theodcides Petri, master of the quarries, and the matriarch Althaia Xanthe Petri.
The estate passes to thirteen heirs. By Theocracy law a will cannot be altered without the in-person consent and signature of every heir - no letters, no proxies, no messengers - so that changing even a single share requires all thirteen to agree, face to face, however scattered across the world they may be.
The Thirteen Heirs
- Atys - the eldest; chief scribe to a Clairnian lord, and a deciphered of ancient treasure-maps.
- Heithina - a priestess of Artemis; twin of Hipporon.
- Hipporon - a male hetaera and impresario; twin of Heithina.
- Thaulos - a breeder of the world’s rarest and costliest creatures.
- Dothus - a military delegate to the New World, now unheard-from.
- Liske - owner of a shipping fleet, and the one stingy sibling.
- Oribasius - a landlord and his father’s favourite.
- Kosmos - a scientist and herbalist, schooled at GUNAM.
- Lekatheh - a goldsmith and money-changer who owns gold and silver mines.
- Aesop - a celebrated and provocative playwright.
- Dermos - “True Skin,” a champion adventurer, now gravely ill.
- Melegron - a vintner of Kepostheon.
- Dikeos - the youngest, an army officer turned wanderer.
