The Night Market
The Night Market is a notorious black market of Teremisis that trades in everything illicit - smuggled goods, forbidden wares, and information - hidden in plain sight beneath the city. It moves to a new venue each month and is run by a mysterious, evidently wealthy woman who calls herself “Clanmeister Elana Ducain”; her people manage the venue, the security, and the bribes that keep the Watch looking the other way. For years the Watch has failed to root it out - raids arrive too late or net only minor traders - and so uncanny is its luck that many believe “Elana Ducain” to be a false name worn by a protector placed high in the city.
The traders one meets within behave like ordinary merchants, only more secretive; very few answer to the market itself, and those few do not talk. The masked vigilante Contralegem has made it his life’s work to bring the market down.
