Honeyville
Honeyville is a settlement of the Hub, on the road toward Teremisis and a little to its north, built in and around a colossal hive of giant bees.
History
Long ago the great hive was ruled by a hag, Matilda Bone Gnaw. Some forty years past she vanished mysteriously, and the leaderless hive ran wild, the bees raising themselves a queen that was no queen at all. About forty-one years ago the adventuring band the Humble Few - led by a young Child named Henrik - helped the people of the region seize the hive and found a town upon it, binding themselves symbiotically into the colony as its new “queens” and turning the bees to agriculture and regional defense. The Humble Few went on aiding Honeyville long after.
Tellingly, the band never found the hag’s own chamber, nor any of the wards she must have left behind - and to this day there is a quiet unease that the bees might one day slip from control. The outpost is counted important to the defense of the surrounding lands.
In recent days a terrible calamity fell upon Honeyville: the town was attacked and those who held the hive were slain, leaving the bees once more without a true queen and in peril of running wild. The colony was secured anew, and a girl of the town, Milna, took up the perilous crown as its new queen.
