The Blue Eyes

The Blue Eyes is a magical plague that has struck the cities of the Holy Theocracy of Olympus in waves, especially in years of war and decay. It is a cruel and swift sickness: less than a week may pass from the first touch of the disease to the moment the victim’s eyes fall open for the last time and their final breath escapes them.

Because it is a magical affliction, the Blue Eyes lies beyond the reach of common medicine, and the poor have little recourse - only the devout faithful are granted the blessing of the gods, and of those, only the handful needed for the war are honoured with a cleric’s healing. So it is that even those who give their lives to tending the sick may fall to the plague themselves, with no one willing to save them.
