Once one of an inseparable trio of laughing siblings, she grew, after the loss of her mother and the flight of her beloved brother Dolerus, into a quiet and withdrawn young woman.
Biography
Alena was the youngest child of the baker Abranos, two years younger than her brother Tristis. After their mother died of the Blue Eyes and their eldest brother Dolerus vanished, she and Tristis laboured for years to help their father survive. When their father was imprisoned, she begged Tristis to flee the city with her; instead he cruelly told her the truth of Dolerus’s theft, and turned to the gangs. Their bond never recovered. Years later, during the street war with the Areanites, she was abducted from their home - a guard left dead, and a message in blood left behind. Her fate remains unknown, though rumour places the Areanites’ leaders in the New World.
