Cold, rigid, and formal - a man who prizes punctuality and obedience above all, and abhors argument and disobedience. He forbids his household to treat servants as mortals rather than property, holding that low station demands low regard. He gave his four-year-old daughter pencils and paper as a gift, then grew angry when she used them to draw instead of to practise her penmanship.
Biography
Count Abingale is the cold and exacting head of the minor noble House Abingale, in the Holy Theocracy of Olympus. Since the departure of his wife he has grown only harder. Unwilling to let his sole heir, his daughter Anne, drift through life without direction, he commanded her - over her protest - to depart for the Tower of Diviners and train as a diviner-mage, so that she might one day return to take up the duties of the house.
