Sabyan is a city renowned in scholarly circles as the seat of the Anthropological Institute, one of the old world’s great centres for the study of peoples and cultures. It was from Sabyan that the anthropologist Yendal Applewhistle came as a visiting professor to GUNAM, and to Sabyan that scholars travel to consult the Institute’s collections.
