The Bee answers to Zeus. The stories tell how, in the cave on Mount Dicte where the infant Zeus was hidden from his father, sacred bees fed him honey - earning Zeus the title Melissaios, “the bee man.” In gratitude he made the bees bright gold and strong enough to weather cold and wind. Rarer still are the Bees blessed by the Muses, who send bees to lay honey on their lips and sweeten their voices; for this it is said that “to be a fine bard is to Bee a fine bard” (as with the bard Baynard Clint).

Profession

Though Bees are sometimes taken for underachievers, their unmatched teamwork and drive all but guarantee success in their field (pun intended).
