Filantrophia - Philly - is a cleric of the Three Charities (Aglaea, Euphrosyne, and Thalia) in The Merry Bunch, raised to give endlessly to others and now learning, at last, to want things for herself.

Biography

Given to the faith the day she was born, Philly never knew her true family; she imagines them as good folk who donated their daughter to the Charities to bring happiness to the world. She grew up in the temple in Kepostheon, well cared for and surrounded by peers all trained to put others first - and learned that her own needs were a mortal coil to shed. She was never miserable, only never happy, which troubled her most of all. When the Merry Bunch - and especially Boti - asked her what she wanted, the question undid her; she joined them, and found that her goddesses did not strike her down but felt closer than ever.
