Zolkyr the Unmaker

Description

Physical Appearance

Personality

Cold, clinical, and vain - he speaks of his living weapons as “satisfying developments” and of the people he destroys as “street scum” and “useful tools.” He is reckoned deplorable even by the criminals he preys upon, and grows dangerous when his patience is tested.

Biography

Zolkyr the Unmaker is a sorcerer who styles himself as the one who will “uplift mortals and cast down the confines of humanoid flesh.” To that end he crafts sentient weapons - soul-devouring blades that digest, annihilate, and imprison those who wield them, then walk among a maker’s enemies as secret agents, harvesting souls for him to consume. He builds them by trial and grim error, discarding the failures (his weapons are numbered, and the unsuccessful become “failed experiments”), and means to mass-produce the ones that work. He abducts the desperate and the disposable to serve as test subjects, caring nothing for what becomes of them, and once probed one of his creations with the name of the conqueror Ostagar Worldshaper merely to test for stray knowledge.

His finest creation, the sword Fortis Eques, learned morality from a stolen mind and turned against him.
