Mount Synope rises above the settlement of Arashez, housing one of the rare Starlight Road gates and an ancient, secretive Demon Door. It is a perilous region: the peaks are a known nesting-ground for wyverns, and hidden somewhere along its jagged slopes lies the lair of the lich Zolkyr. The Emporium Recollectors rank any errand to its gate among their most perilous, S+ commissions.

History & The Monastery of Rudra

Beyond the dangers of wyverns and the lich, Mount Synope is famously the location of the Monastery of Rudra—one of the nine major monk monasteries in the world. Dedicated to Rudra (the divine force of storm and the dead), this monastery focuses on the Way of the Long Death tradition.

The Monastery of Rudra is so deeply secretive that even many traveling monks do not know its exact location on the mountain. It is currently overseen by Grandmaster Loghan, and it serves as the residence of Elendarel, who bears the prestigious Chakra of Dragons (one of the elite Seven Chakras).
