The Emporium Recollectors - often simply the Recollectors - are a society devoted to gathering magical knowledge and artifacts, from the age of the Empire and from every age besides. They were founded by Janeeb, daughter of Mauran the Magefather.
The Repository
Their seat is the Repository in Teremisis - a three-story hall whose lobby is watched over by three statues, the first of them a plump, robed old man with a mischievous smile cradling a floating ball of light. Below lies a warded laboratory of catalogued reagents and strangely-angled glassware.
Notable Members
- Dona Adengin - their expert on planar travel and the theories of the planes.
- Nestor Indiga - their expert on ancient artefacts, of the Empire and before.
- Emerin Wick - a senior Recollector.
It was from a Recollector crypt that the artifact known as the Mad Eye was stolen in 1263.
The Repository in Teremisis is kept by the aged Zormant Clied, and it is from there that the Recollectors issue their commissions, graded by danger - the most perilous marked S+. Among their long-deferred ambitions is the excavation of Del Abin, one of the last keeps of the Council of Watchers, lost in the ancient war but postponed again and again amid the instabilities of Clairnia. An offshoot of the Recollectors, the Scribes of Ibis, broke away to pursue knowledge of their own.
