Coldheart is a city in the east of the Lexalian Republic. During the War of Horrors the Republic moved the seat of its government here, the better to prosecute the war under the Ragnarok Law. When that great effort came to nothing, the failure became the seed of the first true crisis of confidence in the Republic’s history.
The Court of Coldheart
Coldheart is home to one of the Republic’s esteemed courts. Cases are tried by long custom - a summons sets the hearing a week from the letter’s arrival - and its prisons are kept by officers titled Gaol Warders, such as Kurgan Flinter. It was to this court that Jade Folstak was summoned on a second charge of breadstealing, drawing her brother, the einherjar Armand Folstak, to invoke the Right of Substitution on her behalf.
