Olander the Shade was a young boy who received power from the realm of shadow after a fateful encounter around the year 1100. The power came from a dreadful shadow that protected the daughter of a court mage in the Holy Theocracy of Olympus.

Olander became the chief reason the Theocracy’s Great Gang War ended in 1115. His story survives only in fragments. Among the wilder rumors surrounding the Raza is the claim that its mercenaries are ancient heroes such as Olander and Raven, raised from the dead by a scheming necromancer.
