Imix, called the Eternal Flame and the “Prince of the Apocalypse,” is a colossal embodiment of elemental fire - the raw force of the Plane of Fire given will and hunger. He is among the greatest of the elemental powers, and among the most feared: he despises living things, and where his influence reaches he would see all that lives reduced to ash.

A Power Barred from the World

The gods hold the borders of the mortal plane against the intrusion of mighty extraplanar beings, and the greater such a being is, the more firmly it is kept out. Imix is great enough that he cannot cross into the world directly. He can, however, reach into it where mortals open a way - through worship, ritual, or bargain - and bend events from afar.

More insidiously, shards of his being can slip through where the whole cannot. Much as slivers of positive and negative energy sometimes cross into the world and quicken into new life, a fragment of Imix that reaches the mortal plane carries a terrible portion of his power - and his hunger. The scholars of the elemental and the extraplanar at GUNAM and among the Emporium Recollectors study such crossings warily.

Worship

Imix is revered by fire cults who prize the cleansing, devouring flame. Foremost among them in the Hub is the Cult of the Ravaging Inferno - the elemental-fire cult that hides behind the EmberCats’ smuggling network.
