Mictlānian
Mictlānian
Overview
Originating in the place called Mictlān, this harsh and guttural language is associated with darkness and despair - though, in truth, nothing about it beyond its origin enforces that perception. It is spoken by tieflings and gnolls, and its written form borrows its harshest strokes from infernal contracts.
Phonology & Script
Mictlānian is guttural and harsh, written in the Infernal script. Its written form draws its sharpest strokes from the infernal contracts of Mictlān, lending even mundane writing a forbidding look.
Speakers
- Fiends of Mictlān - the tongue’s native speakers.
- Tieflings - who inherit it with their fiendish bloodline.
- Gnolls - the cursed children of Yeenoghu.
