Trunkodon

Overview

Trunkodon is the ancestral tongue of the Loxodons of the Boundless Jungle - written in the Common script, but spoken with the deep resonance only their lungs allow. It is a language of memory: its verbs carry tense markers that reach generations back, and even casual conversation can name the speaker’s matriarchal line. It is rarely taught to outsiders, but rarely refused to a guest who asks with respect.

Phonology & Script

Though written in the Common script, Trunkodon is spoken in a register of deep resonance suited to loxodon lungs. Its remarkable feature is generational tense - verb forms that situate an action not just in time, but along a remembered line of ancestry.

Speakers

  • Loxodons - the elephantine people of the Boundless Jungle, for whom the language is a living record of lineage.
