Overview

Primordial is the language of the elemental planes - though in truth it is an umbrella term for four dialects: Ignan (Fire), Auran (Air), Aquan (Water), and Terran (Earth). These four are dialects only by linguistic origin; hardly a word spoken in one can be understood by a speaker of another.

Phonology & Script

Each Primordial dialect carries the character of its element. They share an ancient common root and the Primordial script, but are, for practical purposes, four separate languages.

Ignan, Auran, Aquan & Terran

• Ignan - the crackling tongue of Fire.
• Auran - the whistling tongue of Air (also the script of Skyspeak).
• Aquan - the flowing tongue of Water.
• Terran - the grinding tongue of Earth.

Speakers

• Elementals - the native speakers of each plane.
• Genasi - the elemental-blooded among the Half Bloods.
