Overview

A corruption of Sylvan, Stygian is spoken in the Shadow Realm - the home of the enigmatic Lord of Spiders and various shadowy beings. It sounds very similar to Sylvan, but it does not share that tongue’s property of preventing its speaker from uttering lies - a fact its Descathi speakers, above all, have learned to turn into a weapon.

Phonology & Script

Stygian sounds almost identical to Sylvan and is written in the same flowing Sylvan script. The crucial difference is hidden: where Sylvan binds its speakers to the truth, Stygian sets them free to deceive.
