Every coin has two sides, and just so the vibrant Feywyld has a mirror of muted colors and shadow: the Shadowfell, a realm of cold darkness where ash falls from the sky. From the servants of that realm and their dealings with the world come the Descathi - a shadowy mirror image of the Dendulra.

Personality

The descathi are bound, whether they like it or not, to the enigmatic Lord of Spiders, the shadowy ruler of the Shadowfell whose goals even his own servants cannot name. Many regard the descathi with suspicion and open hostility, seeing them as a false god’s attempt to corrupt the world; others view them with compassion, as victims of their parentage. Caught between these gazes, the descathi often debate the same question within themselves - unsure, always, of their place in the world.

Appearance

Where the Dendulra are a people of beauty, color, and emotion, the descathi are anything but: their eyes run to shades of gray, their bodies tend toward emaciation, and their skin occasionally sheds faint speckles of ash. Their mortal blood lends them the warmth and energy of life, but their Shadowfell connection forever pushes them back toward the precipice. Like their dendulra cousins, they are long-lived.

Origins

Descathi are counted among the Half Bloods, the dark mirror of the feyborn Dendulra: where the Dendulra answer to the Feywyld, the Descathi answer to the Shadowfell and its Lord of Spiders.
