The Nyuidj (new-id-j), often called the Dream Children, are a rare and misunderstood phenomenon. Their origins are tied to the mysterious plane known as the Dreamtime - a realm so elusive that many doubt it exists at all. Whether born of lucid dreams, twisted thoughts, or errant souls, these beings bridge the gap between the waking world and the subconscious realm of dreams.
Personality
Most Dream Children are free-spirited, endlessly curious, and highly adventurous - as if the fluid nature of the dream were itself a part of their character. Their morality, shaped by the shifting logic of dreams, can make them seem capricious or indifferent to waking-world consequences, yet they are not inherently malevolent; most simply live with a deep fascination for the minds of others.
Appearance
Nyuidj mature and age at the same rate as regular Children, but their ties to the Dreamtime lend them a strange, otherworldly air: eyes that seem to shift color, hair that moves as though touched by an unseen breeze, and expressions that change like passing clouds.
Society
Psychic Dreamwalkers
Nyuidj possess innate psychic powers, a reflection of their deep connection to the mental landscapes of dreamers. Through telepathy they share thoughts, emotions, and images without words. Their most feared gift is the rumored ability to enter and reshape the dreams of others - to walk into a sleeper’s dreamscape and bend it to their will. Though few use this power to sow discord, it is enough to earn them wary regard wherever they go.

Language
Nyuidj speak Common and two further languages of their choosing, but their truest communication is wordless: the telepathic Mind Link that lets them speak directly into the thoughts of any creature they can see.
History
Origins
No one truly knows how the Nyuidj come to be. Some hold they are spirits of the dead that wandered into the Dreamtime and fused with unsuspecting visitors; others, that they are creations of dreamwalkers gone out of control. In truth they are less a fixed race than a phenomenon - mortals of high affinity to the Dreamtime who have spent so much of their existence within it that they are remade by it. They are counted among the Half Bloods for their planar parentage.
