Satyr

The satyrs of Thelemar are a carefree, fey-touched people - wanderers who embrace pleasure, pragmatism, and individualism. They are the siblings of the centaurs, shaped from the same divine wish, yet they took the opposite road: where the centaur binds himself to a cause, the satyr binds himself to nothing but the next horizon.

Origins and Heritage

When the Feywyld first revealed itself to the material world, the fey being Pan proved himself worthy of divinity and was granted a single wish. From it came two peoples who embody both fey freedom and material grounding: the dutiful centaurs and the free-roaming satyrs. Both carry the mark of their fey origins and the will of the god who made them.

Nature

Satyrs embrace what the centaurs renounce - whim, appetite, and the pleasures of the moment - yet they share their siblings’ fey heritage and the Sylvan tongue. That shared language means satyrs, too, find the speaking of outright lies an unnatural thing, however freely they may bend a truth.

History

Origins

Like centaurs, satyrs are counted among the Twisted Races in most of Thelemar - but in the Holy Theocracy of Olympus they are held blessed by Pan and take full part in society.
