Lonwan, the Balance Keeper

Lonwan is the third and most enigmatic of the gods of dragonkind - the Balance Keeper, who maintains the equilibrium between fear and safety. Older and folk accounts call him Saridor, naming him beside the elder dragon-myths.

Divine Domain

Lonwan represents the necessary tension between comfort and challenge: without fear there can be no courage, and without danger no true safety. He is rumoured to be an exceptionally powerful spellcaster and a patron of secrets and rain, though the origin of those claims is unclear.

Roles

Some scholars argue that Lonwan is not truly a dragon in the ordinary sense, but a Loong - one of the mighty, rare creatures that stand outside the dichotomy of fear and safety. Whatever his nature, he holds the scales between Temeria’s fear and Fazen’s safety in balance.

History

Sources on Lonwan are sparse. His exact appearance, his true motives, and even the full scope of his role remain unknown - fitting for a god whose domain includes secrets.

Relationships

  • Temeria and Fazen - the poles of fear and safety he holds in balance.
  • The Loong - the breed he may belong to (see Dragons).
