The Lost Pantheon

The Lost Pantheon, the Tuath Dé, is a faith bound not by race, language, or heritage, but by culture alone - and that is part of why it has faded. Where other pantheons anchored themselves to a nation or a people, the Tuath Dé belonged to a scattered, decentralised folk, and as those folk dispersed and were absorbed, their gods slipped from common worship into half-remembered legend.

History

The people who kept the Tuath Dé were never a single cohesive nation; their unity was cultural rather than political, which let their faith spread far and wide but gave it no centre to hold. Over generations that rootlessness told against them, and today the Tuath Dé are a lost pantheon - their gods still real, still answering the rare devoted prayer, but their temples few and their worshippers scattered to the edges of the world.

The Loreshian Connection

Some scholars bind the Lost Pantheon to Loreshia, the nature-worshipping realm that once filled the Hub and fell to the great demon-flood. The archaeologist Corian Ballard, diving the sunken temple in Swadia’s Lament, judged it Loreshian and concluded that its builders had kept a unique, otherwise-unheard-of pantheon; his Lost Pantheon theory holds that a whole pantheon native to the Hub region was all but eradicated in the fiend flood.

View of Other Religions

The Tuath Dé hold no jealous claim to exclusive truth; their decentralised nature makes them tolerant of, and tolerated by, the faiths that eclipsed them.
