Temeria, Mother of Evil Dragons

Temeria is the Mother of Fear Dragons - so mighty that she became not merely a dragon but an archfiend, counted among the rulers of Mictlān. She is also called the Queen of Fear and Avarice Incarnate.

Divine Domain

Though her domain is named as avarice and domination, both are understood as manifestations of deeper fears - greed stems from the fear of scarcity, domination from the fear of vulnerability. Her worshippers spread terror as a means of control, greedily vying for power over others.

Symbol

Temeria is said to be a terror to behold: a gigantic body covered in countless scales, with nine heads of different fear dragons rising from a single neck. Through those many heads she commands all the powers of her supposed progeny, and far more.

Roles

As one of the gods of dragonkind, Temeria is regarded by dragons less as a creator to be prayed to than as a queen or general whose word is to be heeded. Among the rulers of Mictlān she is roughly the equal of the other eight - far above any mortal or ordinary dragon, yet a candle beside the gods of the three great pantheons or the One God.

History

It is said that Temeria birthed the original fear dragons. Whether or not the myth holds, through her many heads she wields every power held by the fear dragons said to descend from her. During the first Fiend Flood, she raised armies of fear dragons to wipe Loreshia from the map - until the dragon Fazen rallied the safety dragons against her and was raised to godhood as her counterbalance.

Relationships

  • Fazen - her divine counterbalance, the Paragon of Safety.
  • Lonwan - the enigmatic keeper of balance between her fear and Fazen’s safety.
  • The fear dragons of Thelemar, said to be her progeny (see Dragons).
