Mara, the Father of Temptation, is the Archfiend of the eighth layer of Mictlān - and one of the three Arch-Fiends whose blood runs in the tieflings.

Divine Domain

Mara’s domain is temptation and desire. His realm, the Obsidian Place of the Dead (Itzmictlán Apochcalolca), is a dream-like place where desires materialize with terrifying authenticity. Obsidian mirrors reflect a soul’s deepest wishes, building traps of perfect, false fulfillment, while temptress demons coax souls into spiritual self-destruction.

Mara sired a line of tieflings gifted at using charm and persuasion to sway, manipulate, and control others.

Relationships

One of the nine Archfiends of the Mictlān Pantheon; with Rangda and Asmodeus, a progenitor of the tiefling bloodlines.
