The Mictlān Pantheon

The Mictlān Pantheon is not a faith of devotion but a council of rebellion: the nine Archfiends who rule the plane of Mictlān, united by a single purpose - to defy divine rule and one day overthrow it.

History

The Archfiends operate as a collective, their domains interlocking in a spiral of spiritual torment. None dominates the others; instead they work through subtle manipulation and shared strategy, each ruling one layer of Mictlān. Their servants - Devils constructed to depose the gods, and Demons born of malice and chaos - wage their masters’ war upon the mortal world and the souls that pass below.

Tenets

The Archfiends share no creed of worship, only of opposition: that divine rule is to be resisted and, in time, cast down. Among mortals, their domains find echoes in the worst temptations - and three of them, Rangda, Mara, and Asmodeus, infused their essence into the bloodline of the tieflings.
