Purpose	To win the Ring of Unshackled Desire for their nation

The Messengers are the champions sent by the great powers of Thelemar to compete for the Ring of Unshackled Desire. Each carries the colours of a different nation, and while they are grouped together as a contingent of envoys, they are rivals rather than allies - every one of them means to carry the prize home alone.

• August Shein - envoy from the Republic; an aged pioneer of war-magic.
• Hugo Drysdale - envoy from Jaknia; a wealthy arms-dealer’s son sent to buy the ring, or win it.
• Ernest Terra - envoy from Clairnia; heir of House Terra and a famed griffon-rider.
• Michaela Durboron - envoy from Olympus.
