The Faithful Companions are an adventuring band thrown together at a grand contest for the Ring of Unshackled Desire, each drawn by a wish only that relic might grant. What began as strangers chasing the same prize grew, in time, into a fellowship sworn to help one another’s causes.

History

Lorian Heibner and Dranan Horbit first met aboard Amilius Grandt’s ship, travelling from Jaknia to Raven. Their shared quiet drew them together amid the more outgoing passengers, and long conversations during the night watches eventually led Dranan to confide in Lorian. Lorian promised to help him find a solution. They considered approaching Amilius, but feared that a former demon-slayer would react badly to Dranan’s condition.

At Raven’s contest they met Tignor Andviler, who needed a group and judged them capable; their association with the famous Amilius also counted in their favour. They invited D’ok Zingbir, whose curiosity about Lorian and Dranan’s new friendship drew him in. During the following weeks they fought together, spent evenings at the inn, explored Raven, and became closer than any of them expected. D’ok’s openness encouraged the others to share their histories. When Tignor finally told them about his son, the others promised that they would help find a cure after the contest whether they won the Ring or not.

Kios Status

Reason for being there	They are searching for a magic item capable of ending the curse afflicting Tignor’s son, Evanor, and for records of the exorcism magic Kios’s founders used against demons, which they hope can help Dranan. Both aims point them toward Kaios’s Tower.
How they reached the city	They travelled on foot through the northern part of the Amasyan Swamp, guided by Tignor’s navigation and D’ok’s prayers.
Food	They carry twenty fruits from the Tree of Life. Each is melon-sized and silver, flashes with colour when struck by light, and has a texture like a cherry. One fruit satisfies a creature’s need for food for ten days.
Diseases and curses	Lorian is responsible for dealing with them.
