The Bana Drakar - the Dragon Hunters - are the most renowned of the orders that rose to face dragonkind after The Collapse. When the dragons emerged and sowed chaos across the world, it was slayers like the Bana Drakar who allowed remote outposts and villages to weather the storm, and in time they became national folk heroes.
Namesake
“Bana Drakar” is the name by which the order is known across the land - simply, the Dragon Hunters.
History
Throughout the land, the name of the Bana Drakar is spoken with awe and reverence as tales of their heroic deeds spread far and wide. They are celebrated as champions of humanity, defenders of civilization, and fearless warriors who stand unyielding before the greatest of challenges. Their legacy endures as a beacon of hope in a world threatened by darkness and chaos, inspiring future generations to take up arms against the forces of evil and fight for the survival of all who dwell in Thelemar.
Goal
To hunt and slay dragons, and to shield the communities of Thelemar - especially the remote and the vulnerable - from the chaos of dragonkind. The Dragons’ Plain of Clairnia - a land of perpetual storms and patternless earthquakes, scarred when the newly-woken dragons first fought for dominance - is cited in the order’s creeds as the prime reason to hunt fear and safety dragons alike, lest another such cataclysm befall the world.
Leadership
At the head of the order stands the High Council, a body of seasoned veterans and wise leaders who oversee the order’s affairs and decide matters of strategy, recruitment, and resource allocation. Beneath them are the Captains - skilled warriors and experienced hunters who lead the order’s various chapters and divisions across the Lexalian Republic and beyond.
