The Fiend Hunters

The Fiend Hunters are an order devoted to the hunting and slaying of fiends - among the first such companies in the world. Its ranks have included some storied and unusual figures, foremost the renowned demon-slayer Amilius Grandt - also known as Emilius Grandet - counted among the world’s first fiend-hunters. In his later and stranger days he won a reputation as a mad sorcerer, and became the chief champion of the controversial Violent Past theory of the Empire.

Founding

The order first banded together in 1360, as Ma’ar gathered his followers across the Theocracy of Olympus and the first horrors began to walk the world. A young and untried paladin of Clairnia, Alisias Coruo, set out to find a way to fight them, and his search led him to the wandering warlock Niko Castaris, a debtor who had fled Jaknia. Together the two founded the Fiend Hunters and travelled the world recruiting seasoned heroes to drive Ma’ar and his people back from civilization. Among those they gathered were the famous bard Bynard Clint, who had marched with the Lexalian host; the promising young spellcaster Amilius Grandt; and Mishkalobak, a dragonborn cleric of Ares, god of war.
